Joining Shadow Star: Text Form

This is for if you can't or don't want to go through the form. It will also give you an idea of what we mean by each question and offers some helpful explanations. Just copy/paste this into Word or Notepad (or a message), fill it out and email it back to us at ShadowStar-owner AT yahoogroups DOT com. We ask that you edit out the comments in parenthesis so it will be posted on the site more easily.

The Real You

Your Name: Self explanatory (we want at least your first name.)

Email: (A valid, working email is required.)

Instant Messenger SN: (Optional. We sometimes like to have chats about plots - uaually IM chats are easier to arrange.)

Have you joined Yahoo! Groups? (This is a requirement if you want to join this RPG. The URL is www.yahoogroups.com and you can search for ShadowStar there. It is also recommended you join ShadowsPast group for back-plots.)

How did you find out about Shadow Star? Did a member direct you here, or a link from another site, or what?

Persona
This section has to do with your persona, your character. Remember, we like detail!

Persona Name: Obviously, your persona's name.

Age: Your persona's age. Check the aging scale for longer-lived races.

Gender: Male or female.

Species: Here in Shadow Star, we have many species of humanoids. See: Species.

If other: This is for if you want to run a new species past us. We may want you to make some changes, but we almost always approve!

Appearance: We like detail! Build, hair color and style, eye color, facial features, clothing, jewelry, weapons, complexion, etc.

Guild/Rank: If druidic, include deity and animal form(s). If knight, include faction and sphere/miut/codename where applicable. Is your persona a bard? A master knight? A wandering healer? Include faction, if known. (See: Guilds) Note that this should state what guild you're currently in. It's a job description, not a resume; former guilds/masteries should go under the Biography section.

Personality: What is your persona like? Hot tempered? Calm? Quirks? We like a lot of detail here.

Parents: We want names, guilds and ranks, and ages if possible. At least names, even if they're dead/unknown ICly. Unknown or "N/A" families shall result in stabbings from the mods. ^_^

Siblings: Any brothers and sisters? Names, genders, guilds & ranks (if any), and ages

Other Familial Ties: Is your persona married? Have children? Was once married? Do they have cousins, aunt or uncles?

Background: A few paragraphs on your persona's history.

Pets
This section is for if you want a pet or two. We have a selection of telepathic pets as well (see: Telepathic Pets and Animals)

Species: What species of pet? Feline? Canine? Monkey? Wyvern?

Pet description(s): What does your pet look/act like?

Bond
This is for your bond, your persona's counterpart and partner, if you choose to have one (See: Bonds). You can also randomize your bond; we like to have fun with themed bondings and hatchings, so if you want, just enter "Randomized Bond" and we'll make up your bond for you at the bonding.

Bond type: What species your bond is.

Bond name: What's your bond's name? Remember the name restrictions.... ALL dragon (that's Fire and Water) names must END IN "LLE". Pheonix and flamecat names end in "NAL". Pegasi and gryphon names end in "AE". Equine and kraenon names end in DOUBLE CONSONANTS. Dolphin and maricorn names end in "RA". Ryuuki end in "TH" and kyushi end in "SH". Chaotic bonds end in "US".

Status:

• Standing as a bond-to-be
• Already bonded
• Not bonded / not wanting a bond

If in waiting for a bond, would you accept a royal if we chose you?:

• If I don't get a royal, don't have me bond at all

Appearance: What does your bond look like? What color(s) are they, what size, do they have any distinguishing features?

Personality: Remember, bonds are sentient. They have personalities, whether dynamic or bland ^_^

Ability: If already bonded, your pair will have ONE magical ability by the magic of the bond itself, fill this out even if you are standing for a bond so we can have it on hand. Note: only (Unity) bonds/bondeds who have gone through training recieve bond abilities. If you have a wild bond, you'll have to join an upcoming class or have it in your background. (Chaos bonds/bondeds recieve theirs at bonding.)

NPCs: NPCs are Non-Player Characters, they are personas that you don't use often and only in minor roles. There is only one slot, but feel free to make copies of that slot if you want more of them.

NPC name: Your NPCs name?

Relation to persona: Cousin? Good friend? Sibling? Aunt? Godmother?

Location at present: Where is your NPC? In StarScape? Cascadia Falls? On the road to Kiridia? Somewhere near the mouth of the Cascade River?

Brief Description: What does s/he look like, think like, etc. Don't need to be too detailed here. If you end up liking this NPC, you can change it to a PC (playing character)
