  • Alston Hadwedd Combry
    Lonuin `Sian' Marischal

    Lonuin `Sian' Marischal
    Age: 35
    Gender: Female
    Species: Amaane

Appearance: Like the others of her people she is not a tall individual and her habit of dressing in clothes which err towards green, can make her look like some misplaced bush. Sian is not unusually attractive, nor does she do much to try and suggest otherwise. Sian prefers a to be appreciated for herself and not some dream image she has to strive towards. Her simple manner of clothes is reflected in her simple way of living, she likes the world and its wonders, and travel though it with a carefree attitude and appearance. But, she is careful enough to wear leggings, boots and shirts, all in shades of green and brown.

Sian has hair which is best described as brown, its not some medley of shades, its brown and that all there is to it. It has a soft texture, should anyone have occasion to touch her head. She wears it tied back from her face, not because it is overly long but because she doesn't need loose strands of hair in her face. Her bright eyes are characteristic of her people with the spiral irises that let her see better, on some occasions, than human can. Deep brown, they can at times almost seem to be black, but they are also capable of holding flecks of gold when she is in the full light of the day.

Sian has a backpack, and a belt pouch, both typical of the kind worn by those travellers who have neither funds or wish to travel by horse or carriage. Her possessions are solely what she needs to survive when she is away from the scattered settlements or lack coin to pay for lodgings. Though she does have a necklace that never leaves her, made from a silver chain and with a single pearl enclosed in a dragons body. It was a gift from her family on her own naming day. And is all she has left to remind herself of them on this journey. Aside from this she has a dagger and a sling. Both used for cooking and catching food, rather than a means to protect herself. Sian would far prefer to avoid the necessity of combat.

    Guild & Rank: Bard/Apprentice

Personality: Sian is at heart a gentle individual, deeply caring and with a core of honesty that is almost unshakeable. She will not simply tell the truth for the sake of it, she is intelligent enough to know when it is kinder to lie. For herself she is more of a rebel than her quiet nature at first suggests. Having gone against the wishes of her family and people she, along with others is abroad in the land, with all the associated joys and dangers of such travels.

Her intelligence is the factor which drove her out, her people are a dying race. Sian could not bear to stand by and watch it without trying to help in some fashion.

She possesses a free spirit, that is hidden underneath her sense of responsibility to her people and others. Her love of music and dance has been expanded since leaving her home. Showing her the opportunities that exist for someone with her own singing talent.

    Family

Parents: Mother named Horizon Elspeth Marischal (Maiden Name: Harrow), she is in her late hundreds, far nearer to her second set of seventies than she wants to admit publicly. Father named Alwyn Edgar Marischal, he is younger than his wife by a mere two years, but he is not as concerned over his age as his spouse. Both remain with their people, and too Sian's knowledge both are still living. They were very disappointed with her and her leaving, with a great deal of harsh words being exchanged both prior to and on her departure.

Siblings Sister named Agate Roselyn Dolcet (Maiden Name: Marischal), she is the eldest child and has no children of her own despite being married for forty years. Brother named Fenrick Harold Marischal, he has not wed, the numbers of available single women drop each year, and no one has ever captured his interest.

Other Family Ties Sian has three cousins, all older and wed, though only one as a child of their own. She has never been close to her far kin, but naturally wishes them only the best. In spite of the fact her parents are so clearly upset with her.

Background: Lonuin is her first name, but she prefers to be called Sian. The name seems easier on the tongue than her other one. None of her family objected to the asking of the name change. Seeing it as somehow endearing rather than anything more sinister. Sian, was and remains happy with herself. Being youngest she was coddled by her older siblings. It was after all very rare to see anyone with more than a single child. Sian's mother counted herself lucky, if old to be having children still.

Sian always had a curious bent, wanting the answers to everything and anything her mind could come up with. This habit was quickly annoying and as soon as possible she was taught how to read so, she could seek her won answers without disturbing everyone in the house and village. This is part of the reason she decided to leave, Sian wanted to see these places she had read of, meet the people and more importantly experience the whole world outside the village and all the people in it. People she had seen every day for as long as she could remember.

It was around this time that the first of the those who defied the Elders wishes and departed to seek the world and perhaps even to stop the march of fate on their own diminishing numbers. Sian was inspired to do the same, she knew already she was not typical, like the others in her home. Her youth means she can and does make some mistakes but she manages for the most part.

Recently she has heard of the guild of Bards in Cascadia, and has developed an interest in visiting them to continue her training. On her travels she acquired a cat. Sian is not sure how they animal came to be at her fire one morning, but the little creature seems perfectly content to follow her around. In fact the cat, who she calls `friend' because she is not sure of the animals name often takes up residence in Sian's cloak's hood. Its an annoying habit at times, but Sian hasn't the heart to kick the animal out.

    Pets

    Pet name(s): "Friend"
    Pet type(s): Cat
Pet description: A small animal with brilliant green eyes, it has a glossy black coat which is kept as clean and shining as her little tongue and Sian's stroking can, given the rough conditions they wander through. Other than that, its a cat, Sian has never given it a collar.

    Alston Hadwedd Combry
    Age: 240
    Gender: Male
    Species: Dragoon
Appearance: Appearance: As might be expected, tall is a really good word to start describing Alston. Of course, his wings add to that height and influence the imposing image he creates by being the room. Oddly he never uses the full force of his height and, lets face it, weight to try and appear intimidating. He much prefers to dress as casually as he possibly can. Though the colours of his God, tend to make one rather obvious in a crowd as it is.

Once you move past the wings, the subtle claws instead of nails and the fact he is a dragoon. His eyes and hair suggest nothing incredibly remarkable. He does have green eyes that call to mind the deeper parts of the woods. But aside from that, Alston has black hair and green eyes, and that's more of less all to say with regard to his looks.

He wears the marks of his profession proudly. The colours suit him as much as anyone, and he ensures they are kept clean and in excellent order. Along with his standard casual dress his has a pendant to mark his allegiance to Claeryn.

Guild/Rank: Druid of Claeryn, Cleri (not yet achieved a shape-change)

Personality:He has quiet way about him, not shy. But he can tend to slip to the back of your mind. Which is impressive considering the facts of his appearance. Alston is a cautious individual, but that only means his humour is a restrained, yet still playful one. He has played pranks and even on occasion been the butt of others. Alston is not one to assume he is immune from such games. He has an easy way about himself, something he has learned, rather than been born with.

He works hard and knows the difference between playing and study. He can be incredibly stubborn when he sets his mind to something as well as argument when he is sure of some point or other. Alston tries to remain free of judging others but it still happens, and those first impressions tend to be the only one most people get.

  • Cousin: Roselyn Luian Derinal, 234

  • Cousin: Weswin Derinal, 121

  • Background: Alston is the middle-born of a set a triplets, with one older brother, aside from the brother and sister born with him. Typical of most Dragoons he has a large interconnected family. All of whom he stays in regular contact with. Because he had siblings his own age, his childhood was one filled with games as well as lessons in defence. As both his parents are Knights, they expected at least some of their children to follow in their footsteps. However, Alston and two of sisters chose the life of the Druids. Alston and his triplet-sister are not competitive in their shared endeavour, perhaps because her path choose a different God over himself. Or perhaps because Alston is not one to seek for glory or overt praise. With his two older brothers Knights he has a great deal of respect for that Guild, if only so his siblings and parents don't tease him about his own choice.

Alston joined the order in Cascadia as soon as he was old enough to do so, as his sister, Annwyn had similar desires he had some company until they had to go their separate ways in learning of their Gods. He worked hard and soon achieved the rank of Cleri. Currently his goal is to master a shape and become a Changer. But focus shifted to aiding those stricken with the plague and put back his training in the shape shifting. With the sickness resigned to the past, and the populace more than thankful it has done so. He has returned with a new vigour to his own lessons.
